Distance / At-home Learning
Thank you again for your support as we all navigate COVID-19 in our community. Given the increasing numbers of cases in our community, we have decided to move to Distance / At-home Learning from Monday 28 February for all year levels. We will review this decision on a week-by-week basis depending on case numbers in the community and I will communicate with you on Thursday each week about a possible return to at-school learning.
All students can access their learning via the google classroom for each class. The following spreadsheet gives the link and access code for all classes at all levels: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ah7qhQBrhzDkld3WKOcCuWuD6b-oQbU-d1WIAU6axV4/edit#gid=0
Alternatively, your child can log in to the school portal to access the links for your specific classes, further information on how to do this is given at the end of this message.
Your teachers will be available as per the usual school timetable during the times below:
- 9.30 – 10.00 am – Session 1
- 10.30 – 11.00 am – Session 2
- 11.30 – 12.00 pm – Session 3
Afternoons are for you to support and help your whānau and complete independent learning and / or assessment tasks.
Communication with teachers
As a school I have asked all teachers and support staff to send emails during contact hours and on weekdays only. In keeping with our usual school policy we will do our very best to respond to any message from students and / or parents within 24 hours. I’m sure you will appreciate that our staff are juggling working from home as well as managing the day to day life of their own bubbles and so we do need to keep this manageable for both staff and students.
Teachers can be emailed directly via their @edgewater.school.nz email.
