IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: ROSTERING HOME

Unfortunately, our very hardworking and dedicated staff continue to be hit by significant illness and other events that mean we cannot fully staff the school.  Please know we have done our very best up to now to ensure that teaching and learning classes are not impacted. Sadly this week the number of absences and relief teachers available means we are unable to do so.  This means we have had to make the very difficult decision to roster home Year 10 and 11 students on the following days:

Tuesday 26 March

Year 10 students rostered home.  All other students onsite.

Wednesday 27 March

Year 11 students rostered home.  All other students onsite.

Thursday 28 March

Normal school day.  All students onsite.

Friday 29 March

Good Friday – Public Holiday

Next week: Monday and Tuesday the 1st and 2nd of April are also Public Holidays so school will resume for all students on Wednesday the 3rd of April.

As mentioned previously we do have a number of new staff joining us next term and so are hopeful we will not have to make such decisions going forward.  We have also advertised for additional staff to join us from Term 2 so again we have enough extra staffing to prevent rostering home.  If you do know of any teachers that might be looking to join our awesome staff, please see the Education Gazette for further information.

HELP WITH CO-CURRICULAR SPORT

We have had a very large number of students interested in participating in both Netball and Basketball this year, which is fantastic news, but also means we are looking for parent / community volunteers that might be available to help with coaching and / or managing a team.  For further information please contact our Director of Sport Jodi Benjamin via email [email protected].

STUDY POINT

For students looking for extra support with their studies our Academic Committee will be running after school study sessions from 3.15 pm to 4.15 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, and Wednesday and Thursday next week.   Any students wanting a quiet study place, and / or some help with their learning can attend in the B Block Study area.  Afternoon tea is provided for those studying!

Thank you again to our amazing Edgewater community - your ongoing support is very much appreciated.

I do wish you all a blessed and happy Easter for the weekend ahead.
