Unfortunately, I need to update you with the news that the PPTA and the Ministry of Education have been unable to reach an agreement and so the strike action from union members continues for the remainder of the term.
The significant impact for our students is an increase in rostering home. Starting from next week two-year[LS1] [AM2] [LA3] [LS4] levels each day will be rostered home from Monday to Thursday as below:
Week 8 – 12 to 16 June
Day | Date | Year Levels |
Monday | 12 June | Year 11 and 12 |
Tuesday | 13 June | Year 9 and 13 |
Wednesday | 14 June | Year 10 and 11 |
Thursday | 15 June | Year 12 and 13 |
Friday | 16 June | No rostering home = all year levels on site |
Week 9 – 19 to 23 June
Day | Date | Year Levels |
Monday | 19 June | Year 9 and 10 |
Tuesday | 20 June | Year 11 and 12 |
Wednesday | 21 June | Year 9 and 13 |
Thursday | 22 June | Year 10 and 11 |
Friday | 23 June | No rostering home = all year levels on site |
Week 10 – 26 to 30 June
Day | Date | Year Levels |
Monday | 26 June | Year 12 and 13 |
Tuesday | 27 June | Year 9 and 10 |
Wednesday | 28 June | Year 11 and 12* |
Thursday | 29 June | Mentor Day |
Friday | 30 June | Mentor Day[SS5] [LA6] |
* Early finish for years 9, 10, 13 at 12 pm as Paid Union meeting that afternoon.
I know this is not the news any of us wanted. Again, our hope is that an agreement can be reached as soon as possible to support our learners with being at school every day.
