Outdoor Education Outdoor education provides students with opportunities to develop personal and social skills, leadership and independence. Our programme is designed to help you to become active, safe, and skilled in the outdoors, and to protect and care for the environment. Outdoor education is offered at Year 12 and Year 13. It includes adventure activities and outdoor pursuits. Adventure activities foster your personal and social development through experiences involving co-operation, trust, problem solving, decision making, goal setting, communication, leadership, responsibility, and reflection. We learn about the four dimensions of hauora through safe, challenging, and enjoyable learning experiences in the outdoor environment. Activities and Adventures: Students experience a myriad of activities and adventures, from a 3 day sea kayaking trip to mountain biking in the beautiful New Zealand Native Bush. Within this programme we also offer a Leadership Course and overnight camps which build team work and communication skills, along with decision making and life skills.
