AUT Secondary Schools Scholarships Programme

AUT University’s Secondary Schools Scholarship Programme gives New Zealand secondary school students the opportunity to study at AUT with the benefit of a scholarship.

AUT offers two major scholarship schemes for secondary school students:

  • Vice Chancellor's Scholarships for students from the Auckland region only; and
  • Significant Student Scholarships for students from throughout New Zealand.

Applicants for the Vice Chancellor's Scholarships are to be nominated by their school.

The purpose of these scholarships is to:

  • Recognise, reward and encourage excellence in school and community activities
  • Provide a tangible and beneficial expression of AUT's commitment to, and partnership with, the wider education community

Conditions of application:

  • The award of a scholarship is conditional on the student gaining entry to an AUT undergraduate degree programme.
  • Recipients must be enrolling for the first time, in a full-time programme of study.
  • The Vice Chancellor's Scholarships are only offered to students enrolled in secondary schools in the Auckland region.
  • The Significant Student Scholarships are available to students enrolled in secondary schools throughout New Zealand.
