Welcome to Edgewater College
I am pleased to be able to welcome you to our site. I am proud of Edgewater College and of the range and quality of the opportunities we offer.
Edgewater College is a Years 9-13 (Forms 3-7) co-educational college of approximately 900 students situated by the Tamaki estuary in Pakuranga, Auckland.
The school opened in 1968 and since that time has built a strong reputation in the community as a college that offers its students a full range of educational and co-curricular opportunities.
In a rapidly changing educational environment and society we aim to be a college that makes a positive difference.
To ensure that this occurs we:
- are active in encouraging and assisting students to strive for academic excellence.
- provide opportunities to participate and perform in a wide range of sporting and cultural activities.
- have a qualified and dedicated staff.
- provide courses of study designed to meet the interests of students.
- have established a positive and supportive environment in which cultural differences are valued.
- provide opportunities for the development of leadership skills.
- offer extension and learning support to meet the needs of students with different abilities.
- have an established ESOL programme that recognises the special needs of students for whom English is a second language.
As a school we have a clear view of where we are going and what we want to achieve. We would like you to be part of that vision.
